Tokio trenutno zapada u pravi kišni period za koji se čini da je počeo da narušava svakodnevan život. Usred okolnosti, dolazi do neprestanih bujica i problema. Tokom ovih dešavanja, Hodaka Morišima, koji tek završava Srednju Školu, pokušava da se zaposli, usred činjenice da slabo stoji finansijski zbog celokupne situacije koju je Tokijo snašlo. S druge strane, Hina Amano takođe očajnički pokušava da sebi pronađe posao, kako bi mogla da izdržava sebe i svog mlađeg brata.
Ovome dvoje će se uskoro sudbine spojiti, i to trenutka kada će Hodaka pokušati da spasi Hinu, od nepoznatnog muškarca. Nedugo zatim, Hodaka otkriva da Hina poseduje čudnu, ali zadivljujuću moć: sposobnost da prizove sunce svakog puta kada se za isto pomoli. Sudeći po svim neprilikama i haosu koji je zadesio Tokijo, Hodaka ovo vidi kao potencijalnu mogućnost da se sve privede kraju.
